If Tiger Woods went to the PGA Championship with clubs that were 20 years old, he (arguably) wouldn’t stand a chance. You can’t win a major with woods that are actually made out of wood. Outdated tools won’t get you very far, even if you are the most skilled person in the world.
If you gave me the nicest set of clubs out there, got them custom fitted, even gave me some Titleist golf balls, and sent me to the PGA Championship, I’d make a mockery out of the event. The newest technologies are useless if they’re not in the hands of someone who knows how to use them effectively.
So why do companies think they can get away with this? Some think they can use the same things that worked 20 years ago and come out on top. Others think they can give the reigns of social media to someone who just created their own Facebook profile. Curious, huh?
