If you’re new to Analogous Friday, welcome to the mecca. This is a little diddy I do every week (on a Friday, naturally) where I share with you a baller video that I’ve come across for your entertainment. Then, after said entertainment, I’ll make some ridunkulous analogy for how it relates to marketing and business. Then, in the comments, you continue the analogousness and come up with your own. So, those are the rules, you little goblin, now let’s get this party started!
This week’s Halloween themed video comes from the desk of Ryan Stephens, who g-chatted it to me earlier this week.
Alright, so pick your jaw off the floor and get ready to see what we can learn from this ghoulish beatdown.
STAY ON YOUR TOES
As a business person, you have to be ready for anything thrown your way. If there’s a PR crisis, then you have to know how to react quickly and effectively. If one of your suppliers is giving you a hard time, you have to set them straight. If a monster shows up in your warehouse…well you see where I’m going. How do you prepare for things like this? You have to put in the hard work during the non-crisis periods so that you’re both prepared for these situations and able to react quickly.
Ok, so you KNOW there have been times where something didn’t go quite how you wanted and you absolutely flipped out (hopefully not like this guy and ended up punching someone in the face). Most of the time it’s best to just sit back and analyze the situation first, before you take action. Sure, sometimes there’s no time to think, but a lot of the time if you take a second to calm down and assess your options. It’s actually hilarious in this video because it looks like the guy who was scared actually does take a second or two to think “Holy shit, there’s a monster, I should probably punch him!” So, I guess that means you better make sure your actions are appropriate for the situation.
There ya have it. Another Analogous Friday is in the books! I hope you enjoyed the video and maybe learned a lesson or two from it. Feel free to retweet it so you can share the hilarity! Happy Halloween!
