I hate to break your hearts, but there’s no Analogous Friday post today. In the wake of the events that have taken place in Haiti, I want you to just take a second to think about your family, your closest friends, and just be grateful. You’ve seen the stories and news coverage I’m sure, and it was hard to think a country like Haiti could be much worse off in the first place, but that’s exactly what’s happened.
I know there are people that say we should be helping like this all the time, not just when disaster strikes. This may be true, but the Haitians need help now more than ever. They need us. Whether it’s our thoughts and prayers or our relief. So anything you’re able to do, please do it.
If you would like to give monetarily, you can head over to any of these places:
- American Red Cross
- Hope for Haiti (through 12for12k)
- Mashable had an article with numerous organizations you can donate through
- If you’re unable to donate yourself, or you already have, consider simply tweeting out a message encouraging others to do so.

You really got the heart there Jackie, I loved the initiative which you have taken here.People in Haiti really need help from every one of us, I would spread this as much as I can as this is definitely a global call for action for a serious cause.
It's definitely cool to see people all over the world helping out the people of Haiti. It's a shame that it takes something like this to unite people, but it's a beautiful thing to see at the same time.
Rewind nine years to the 9/11 aftermath and the world uniting around three acts of terrorism, the extent which never happened before on U.S. soil.
Sadly, it sometimes takes a disaster and lost lives to bridge gaps.
I donated $100 to the Red Cross this week – and strongly encourage everyone to do SOMETHING – even if it's just passing up your morning latte for the week and donating that $20 bucks. Every little bit helps, and right now, the people of Haiti desperately need all of our help. Thanks for doing your part in raising awareness.
So true, Ari. I just wish the bridged gaps would stay like that for longer after these events. Thanks for commenting!
For sure man, glad you're getting involved some yourself! It's great to see so many people using their voices in a positive way.
