Hey Jackie, Awesome thoughts as always, looking at things this way everything which becomes successful seems to be more of an ongoing experiment as conclusions keep on changing, so success comes eventually with a lot of hard work in all those trials.

I don't know if its a good thing that psychology makes you think of me. Almost makes it seem like I am the physical association with any sort of cognitive issues. People who talk about psychological ideas are always the most screwed up. What does that say about us?

Yeah I agree “mistake” probably isn't the best word, as it sort of implies that it had a negative final result (which it may potentially be a mistake if you don't recognize it as a step required in your never-ending trial and error). That article actually made me think of you since it got all psychological on me.

Jackie, I love the point of the post. I don't know if “mistakes” is the right word though. If I am interpreting your point correctly you are talking about experimentation and exploration. When your R&D department or anybody else is in that phase, I don't know that anything is a mistake as much as it is trial and error.

Nonetheless, great point about pushing beyond the box.
