WHAT IS THE CURBSIDE MARKETER?
Well, I’m so glad you asked! Imagine this blog as the street corner (no, not the sketchy street corner) where you come and hang out with me a few times each week. Each time you stop by, you and I, and everyone else, will talk about some intriguing, challenging, (and awesome) topics regarding marketing, social media, the business world, and just life in general.
This isn’t a podium for me to preach ideas to you, it’s a gathering place for ideas where I hope to learn just as much from you as you do from me. After all, I don’t pretend to be an expert, and am excited to hear what you have to say in the comments section after each post.
WHO IS JACKIE ADKINS?
Let’s go ahead and get this out of the way, yes, I have a girl’s name, but I am, in fact, a boy (I prefer man, now). If you thought I was a girl, that’s cool, I’m used to it. Moving on…
I graduated from the greatest place on earth at UNC in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration and now work for a social media monitoring and activation company in Charlotte, NC. I love reading, thinking, and talking about marketing, specifically brand perception, social media, and guerrilla marketing. In a few years, I plan on going back to school to get my MBA.
I love sports, but my favorite by far is soccer. I’m a HUGE fan of any UNC sports team (09 National Champs…Woohoo!) as well as the Carolina Panthers. I never did grow out of my video game habit and can probably kick your butt on the Xbox 360. In the rest of my spare time, you can probably find me watching The Office, watching a movie, working out, or eating mexican food.
